The public will take notice that on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. at 103 Village Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534, the Village Council of the Village of Walnut Creek will conduct a public hearing to amend Chapter 94, zoning regulations as follows:
- To make it clear that the zoning officer give the first notification of a violation “in writing”.
- A party has 30 days to appeal a notice of violation.
- To clarify when a penalty will begin. The intent is to make it clear that if there is no appeal the penalty will begin 30 days after the date of the notice of violation. This gives the offending party 30 days to take corrective action after the notice of violation before a penalty would start. If there is an appeal the offending party would have 30 days after the final decision to take corrective action before the penalty would begin.
- Notice or a citation sent by first class mail is deemed received on the third business day following deposit of the notice for mailing with the United States Postal Service.
