NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF AMENDED RESIDENTIAL WATER & SEWER RATES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village Council of the Village of Walnut Creek, North Carolina, has officially adopted a resolution amending the schedule of fees for residential water and sewer services. The adjusted utility rates are designed to balance rising operational, infrastructure maintenance, and regulatory compliance costs, ensuring the long-term reliability of the municipal utility systems.
The new residential rate structure will apply to all utility billing cycles beginning on or after July 22, 2026, as outlined below:
NEW RESIDENTIAL WATER RATES
- Minimum Base Rate (Includes first 2,000 gallons): $35.00 flat fee
- Volumetric Tier 1 (2,001 to 6,000 gallons): $8.32 per 1,000 gallons
- Volumetric Tier 2 (6,001 to 10,000 gallons): $8.82 per 1,000 gallons
- Volumetric Tier 3 (10,001 to 20,000 gallons): $13.25 per 1,000 gallons
- Volumetric Tier 4 (20,001 gallons and up): $15.42 per 1,000 gallons
NEW RESIDENTIAL SEWER RATES
- Minimum Base Rate (Includes first 5,000 gallons): $75.00 flat fee
- Volumetric Usage (5,001 gallons and up): $22.31 per 1,000 gallons
